Distribution network maintenance

Planned and corrective maintenance of medium- and low-voltage networks, substations and transformers.

Fewer outages, longer equipment life

Most network failures start with small signs: a loose connection, a cracked insulator, a worn cable termination, a tree growing into the line or a transformer that always runs at full load. Regular maintenance finds these problems before they cause an outage.

We work for distribution utilities and for owners of private networks such as industrial parks, large complexes and campuses, under annual or project-based contracts.

  • Inspection of overhead lines, poles and insulators
  • Substation and switchgear maintenance
  • Transformer oil sampling and testing
  • Thermal imaging of connections
  • Fault repair and emergency response

Contract options

Annual maintenance contract

Scheduled inspections and preventive work with agreed response times.

Condition assessment

A one-off survey of the network with a prioritised repair list.

Corrective works

Repair of faults, replacement of damaged equipment and reinforcement.

Frequently asked questions

Who is responsible for maintaining a private network?
A network inside an industrial park, complex or factory site usually belongs to its owner, who is responsible for maintenance unless the network has been handed over to the utility.
How often should transformer oil be tested?
It depends on the importance, rating and loading of the transformer, and should be set in the maintenance plan. IEC 60422 gives guidance on tests and limits.
