Medium- and low-voltage cable installation

Underground and tray cable networks for substations, projects and distribution utilities, from route design to testing.

Cable work that lasts

A cable that is wrongly selected or not laid in a proper trench shows its faults years later as insulation failure, hot spots or sudden outages, and repairs are slow and expensive. We select the cable for the load and the installation conditions and lay it to the utility’s standard details.

Terminations and joints are the most sensitive points of a cable network. They are installed by trained technicians, and every circuit is tested before energisation.

  • Underground MV cable networks
  • LV feeders from the substation to switchboards
  • Cable trenches, ducts and trays
  • Heat-shrink, cold-shrink and plug-in terminations and joints

What the work includes

Route design

Cable route, crossings with other utilities and permits.

Trenching and laying

Excavation, bedding, protection and backfill to standard details.

Terminations and joints

Installation to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Testing

Insulation tests and records before handover.

Frequently asked questions

Why do cable terminations fail?
Most failures come from installation rather than the kit itself: damaged insulation during stripping, wrong dimensions, moisture or weak lug crimping.
Underground cable or overhead line?
Underground cable is safer and does not affect the streetscape, but excavation and repair cost more. The choice depends on the site, the utility’s rules and the budget.
